Rosanne Marie Minnick was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico on July 1, 1946. She died in Cortez, Colorado, the place she had called home from May of 1984 until November 17, 2007. Her first encounter with cancer was in 1973 (thyroid) however after a long battle she finally yielded to ovarian cancer.
The youngest daughter of Thomas (Tom) B. and Beatrice (Bea) Minnick she was survived by them and her sister Lacey Cook all of Clayton, New Mexico. Her two children, Michael S. Exum of Lubbock, Texas and daughter Lisa Marie Walker of Cortez, Colorado both celebrated her life at her memorial services both in Cortez and Clayton. She, also, left behind three grand-children whom she adored; Cole, Zane and Zander; and a nephew Britt Swart.
Rosanne grew up in Mesa, Arizona and graduated in 1964. She briefly attended Lubbock Christian University (then LCC). However, she was soon back in Tempe, Arizona where she met and married Ronald S. Exum (later in Lubbock, TX). They were married 27 years (1966-1993) during which time they lived in San Diego, CA; Lubbock, TX; Rankin, TX; Apache Junction, AZ; Good Year, AZ; El Dorado Springs, MO; Amarillo, TX; Bronte, TX; and Cortez, CO. Those years her life was as a Navy wife, minister’s wife, and in her becoming a certified nurse’s assistant. She was always well spoken of as a mother to her children by others. She married Harold E. (Ed) Hinton of Cortez on October 17, 1998 but that ended in May 2001. She worked in the medical field until she retired.
Rosanne was widely known for her quick smile and laughter and her open friendly heart. She was, like her mother before her, very devoted to her children and grand-children.
Rosanne became affiliated with the Rock Springs Community Church which hosted the celebration of her life which many of her friends from the area attended. Ron Exum of Seattle, WA was also present.
