Ronald Wesley Palmer

Mesa - Ronald Wesley Palmer, born Dec. 15, 1943, in Mesa, AZ, passed away peacefully Jan. 16, 2021 in Mesa, AZ and had a wonderful reunion with his parents Newel and Pauline Moody Palmer, sisters Nulyne and Julie and brothers Douglas and Richard. He is survived by his brothers Joe and David and sister Louise Millar and many nephews and nieces. Ron attended Mesa Public Schools and graduated from Mesa High School. He worked in the public schools and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint church facilities. Ron loved meeting with Sons of the Utah Pioneers and being part of that wonderful organization. He contributed regularly to United Blood Services. He served a mission to Florida and served in many capacities in the church organizations. He was always so helpful at church activities-getting there early and helping set up chairs and tables. Everyday Ron could be seen sitting on his chair in front of his home reading his scriptures and enjoying all the activity on busy Rio Salado Parkway. Ron mostly loved serving others.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021 from 5pm-7pm in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint Westwood Building 848 N. Westwood Mesa AZ .

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 29, 2021 at 10am at the same location with a viewing at 9am, one hour prior to the service. Please remember to obey all CDC safety guidelines..

Kathy Jo Machmer was born on June 27, 1946 in Hartley, Iowa to Guy and Harriett Foley. Kathy played the oboe and her family spent their summers on Lake Okoboji until 1960 when they moved to Mesa, AZ.

Kathy attended Mesa High School and graduated in 1964. She went to a renown beauty school in Toronto, Ontario. When she returned to Arizona she bought her own salon in Scottsdale and later went on to complete barber school. She married Gerry Machmer in 1985 and they later moved to Prescott.

Over time, Kathy developed a strong love for genealogy. In addition to all the family research she did, Kathy became involved in the Daughters of The American Revolution, the Mayflower Society and the Veterans Voluntary Service organizations.

After complications from heart surgery, Kathy died on November 30th, 2020. She was preceded by her parents, sister, Jackie Olivia, husband, Gerry Machmer. Kathy is survived by her sister, Pat Foley, brother Mike Foley and many nieces and nephews. Gerry and Kathy will be interned together in Kansas. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Kathy's memory to Northern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health System, Voluntary Service, 500 N. Highway 89, Prescott, AZ 86313.

CAMDENTON MO 2020-11-03 19:34:19

GOT THIS FROM Wendell Peacock THIS AM: It's my sad duty to inform you that David Silvers passed away last night, NOVEMBER 1, at his home in Camdenton, Missouri, of heart failure. His widow Dorothy assures me that he died peacefully. We've been meeting every two weeks for lunch at various local restaurants since we discovered we live in the same Lake of the Ozarks town 56 years and 1,350 miles from our alma mater, Mesa (AZ) High School. Making this report pains me deeply.

We planned to carpool to the annual Veterans Day tribute lunch at Mack's Creek High School in the next town East of here this week.

2014- DAVID AND DOROTHY WILL SEE YOU AT THE REUNION.

Hi! I'm her only daughter. Carolyn was a wonderful and fun Mom. She passed of heart failure in 2011. We had 7 great years together after she was diagnosed. Can you tell me anything about her as a young adult? I'd love that- thank you!
